Redox-C (Vitamin C) contains ascorbic acid (another name for vitamin C). It is commonly used to treat or prevent vitamin C deficiency (scurvy). Symptoms of this can include gingivitis, bleeding of the gums, infections and other symptoms.
Recent research has shown that vitamin C plays an important role in producing collagen (which is commonly used in cosmetic surgery), and many people believe that ascorbic acid is important for healthy and youthful skin. Some patients also believe that it can reduce wrinkles and facial lines, and there are even benefits reported in the treatment of acne. In addition to this, it is considered important for the immune system, and certain people have taken it to help treat Alzheimer’s, ADHD, fatigue and many other conditions.
Dosage and Administration
Redox-C (Vitamin C) ascorbic acid injection comes as ampoules, which must be injected by a doctor. Although vitamin c is normally given orally as tablets, in some cases, oral administration may be deemed ineffective or may not be possible. Therefore, certain patients may require it to be administered via injection. If this is the case, your doctor will tell you how often you need to have the injection. Medical appointments will be scheduled, and it is essential that the patient attends any scheduled treatment sessions.
Some patients treated with Redox-C (Vitamin C) may experience sores at the injection site. If the injection is given too rapidly, dizziness may occur. Other possible side effects include:
- Indigestion or cramps in the stomach
Inform your doctor if you are concerned about side effects. If you notice bloody urine, painful urination, severe diarrhoea or any other signs of a serious reaction, consult your doctor immediately.
Excess amounts of vitamin C can be dangerous.
The ampoule should be inspected for signs of discolouration or particulate matter before administration of the injection.
Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
Always use Redox-C (Vitamin C) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.
This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
